Shiraz Racing is operated by the Holmes Family from a property in Yarragon in the West Gippsland area of Victoria and to relocate to their original Blind Bight property within 3 months to pursue specialist trainng servcies.
Lesley and Daryl Holmes have bred and trained greyhounds for 40 years including champion stud dog Black Shiraz and his litter brother Big Ginger Boy. There experience also includes being studmasters for both those great dogs & also November Fury & November Gandhi.
Son Scott, assisted by wife Fiona, is the Shiraz Racing full time trainer and manages the Yarragon property.
Scott was awarded the “Silver Fox” Achievement Award by Greyhound Racing Victoria for 2005 for his contribution to greyhound racing including training the most winners by a trainer under 25 years of age – 65 winners for the year.
Scott trained 58 winners during 2011 with a win strike rate of over 25%.
